Rather than just be without any self-analysis in the way a golden retriever is really good at, we as human beings are naturally inclined to ask the questions “What’s the point of it all?” “Why are we here?” The inherent questioning itself suggests that first of all there is a point and secondly that maybe we aren’t originally from here.
So let’s run with that. There is a part of you that came here from somewhere else and it wasn’t just to live the good earth life. You are here for a higher purpose and as Viktor Frankl wrote in Man’s Search for Meaning, it is imperative that you figure out what that is.
Generally speaking, your life’s purpose is to grow and live the highest possible expression of yourself. You are here to 1) mature and 2) to use your given talents in line with the passions of your soul for service to others.
Your spirit continually urges you to ask, “Why?” to help you stay on task and figure it out. To get answers, you have to ask questions first. Seek and you shall find. Keep asking and step by step, the answers will be revealed to you according to divine providence.
If you are wondering why you can’t just be born knowing the answers from the get go. The answer is: it would take all the fun out of it. It’s the difference between earning the money to buy your first car and having it simply given to you. Life really is about the journey.
